Orthodontic Treatment for All Ages
Orthodontic treatment is not just for kids anymore! Dr. Ashley has treated patients from age 7 to 77. Life-changing results are possible at any age and all ages are welcome to be treated at our office. Many adults unfortunately did not have the opportunity to have braces as a kid. It’s never too late to have the beautiful smile and the healthy mouth you deserve.
Clear and Metal Braces
Your Specialist in Braces for All Ages
Today’s braces technology is gentler, less painful, and more efficient than it was even a few years ago. The experience of braces can be fun and even an expression of your personal style. Below are some of the types of braces available at Caledonia Orthodontics:
- Metal Braces: Traditional braces with new high-tech engineering. The metal braces used by Dr. Ashley are designed to move your teeth gently and efficiently.
- Clear Braces: Braces made from aesthetic ceramic for those who want braces with a more discrete look.
Invisalign and Spark Clear Aligners
Your Specialist in Clear Aligners for All Ages
Dr. Ashley is a Specialist with extensive training and experience treating even complex orthodontic problems with clear aligners. Even if you’ve been told that you are not a candidate for Invisalign or clear aligner treatment, we encourage you to book a consultation so we can take a look. Dr. Ashley has extensive experience working with both Invisalign and Spark aligners, which are two brands of clear aligners. Clear aligners are the preferable alternative for kids, teens or adults looking for an aesthetic and convenient treatment option. Clear aligners are see-through and removable, meaning you can remove them to eat, drink, brush, floss normally.
Early Interceptive Treatment (Phase 1 Orthodontic Treatment)
Preventing Future Orthodontic Problems
Did you know it is recommended for all children to see an orthodontist by the age of 7? Dr. Ashley offers complimentary growth exams to all children to keep a close eye on the growth and development of their teeth and jaws. While most orthodontic work is not implemented until all the adult teeth come in, there are some issues with the teeth and jaws that are best corrected early. Early treatment may involve appliances for thumb sucking or tongue thrusting, or an expander appliance to open space for all of the adult teeth to develop. With early treatment, more serious issues can be caught in the earliest stages and possibly prevent the need for future jaw surgery or tooth extractions.
Surgical Orthodontic Treatment
Treatment for Severe Bite and Jaw Problems
Surgical orthodontic treatments are for adult patients, with fully developed jaws, who have bite problems. Surgical treatments are also an option for people with concerns about facial aesthetics. In the same way that orthodontic treatment helps to correct misaligned teeth, surgical orthodontic treatment (or ‘orthognathic surgery’) helps fix jaw irregularities to improve the ability to breathe, eat and speak, and to change facial appearances if desired. Moving the jaw also moves the teeth, so braces are always a part of jaw correction. This helps ensure that teeth are properly positioned after surgery. Dr. Ashley will work closely with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to ensure the absolute best treatment outcome.
Retainers
Maintaining your Perfect Smile
Retainers must be worn to maintain your beautiful, straight teeth after treatment is complete. Retainers are typically worn on a part-time basis for life. At Caledonia Orthodontics, we can make both bonded and removable retainers for patients who had previous orthodontic treatment looking for a retainer replacement or repair.
Touch-Up Treatment
Perfecting Your Smile
Touch-up treatment is for adults who had orthodontic treatment in the past and have noticed some recent minor shifting due to lost retainers or aging. Fortunately, this treatment often takes much less time than your original treatment.
